last night at the studio

Saturday, July 31st, 2004

Last night I stopped by to check out how things were going over at the studio where Derek is working on the new album (I see things upside down). All I can say is, ya’ll are not ready. It is going to be incredible. I was there while they were working on “t-shirts” which some of you may have heard DW do in recent concerts. Hearing it with a band makes the song to a completely different level. I also heard a little of the new version of “I repent”. You are not ready. I am hoping to get some “official” davejac.net pictures from the studio up early this next week. I will keep you all posted on anything that is too cool for me not to talk about.

it has been a while

Tuesday, July 13th, 2004

I know it has been a while. So shut up! I have been busy. I have to help plan a wedding. It is exciting. But I really know nothing about those thing. But I can pretend, right?
Derek is starting to work on his next album. It is going to be cool. The only things I have heard form it is stuff he has played at shows. But that stuff is cool. We have been listening to a ton of Wilco on the road. So while I am home I have been listening to real music. Just kidding. Derek got me hooked on Wilco.
I met some davejac fans at the show in charlotte about 2 weeks ago. And they were asking about what they could bring to me at shows. so I have come up with this list of things.
- Anything from starbucks (or other coffee shop) iced caramel macchiato need I say more.
- can you say sharpies
- Frosty (with or with out fries to dip)
- Or anything else you feel like bringing.
I really just want to hang with you all. You guys are what make this job so much fun. I should be bringing you all cups of coffee. So keep coming to the shows.

We are getting ready to head back to Florida for a few days. It should be a good time. I hope to see you all down there. Bring your suntan lotion.
