The Truth About Derek and Beer

I am a little disappointed. Derek Webb has given into bad marketing. I know you are all disappointed about this too. But the truth needs to be told.

Derek thinks that Sam Adams is always a good beer. You have all seen the commercials. The ones with the crazy pilgrim guy drinking beer at the end of them. The slogan for Sam Adams beer is “always a good decision”. Now don’t get me wrong. I will drink a Sam Adams. But, that is if there are no other “good” beers available. What ever happened to the good old days of Derek drinking Guinness, Red Stripe, Newcastle, or even a Corona? I just don’t understand. From the guy who convinced me to drink Guinness and orange juice, now is trying to sell me on Sam Adams. I guess it is better than PBR, or Milwaukee’s best. I just want you all to be aware of what is going on.

    You tried Bass yet? i like it alot. but Guinness is getting to be a fav of mine.

    I’m from Massachusetts and even I don’t buy into the Sam Adams Hype Machine. Then again, I do enjoy a good Coors Light on occasion, so i guess that invalidates any opinion i might have concerning beer.

    the pilgrim guy freaks me out… and derek giving in to any kind of hype is the next to last sign of the apocalypse. you’ve all been warned.

    Aww, Derek. Sam Adams is good, no doubt… but Newcastle is greatness! Fat Tire is another good one. Good call on that.

    I concur with DavJac. Sam Adams is of the devil.

    You know, you COULD tell him Wilkenson endorses it. Then maybe he’d leave that nasty stuff alone.

    i do enjoy sam adams. but i have to say i am a fan of killians. also coors original… maybe because i live in georgia.
