The rumors are true

March 28th, 2006

The rumors are true. I am no longer working for Derek. Yes, it is a sad day. But don’t worry…

After 2.5 years working with, in my opinion, one of the greatest talents in the music business, I have moved on to something different. There are nohard feelings between myself and Derek. And I hope to someday work with him and Sandra again. But for the time being I needed to do something else.

I am now working with the group Watermark. And yes, they are about to be no longer. They asked me to come out and Tour Manage their farewell tour and take over as their pseudo manager while they are leaving their record label. It is a big step for my career. So I took it. Call me a sell out if you like, but it is no worse than Bryan Allain missing a concert to play softball. I am also working with Christy Nockels (lead singer of Watermark) as she starts her own solo career.

So for the time being, I am back to being a Derek Webb super fan. I will keep you updated on what I am doing.

Loving your neighbor…

October 15th, 2005

Sometimes in life crazy things happen… like your neighbor driving into his own front porch. Yes that is right. Up onto the curb, through the bushes, past the little tree, and up on to the porch. The good news is that there is a solid brick pillar that stopped the car. I cant even imagine what would have happened if that pillar was not there. There are two lessons to be learned from this little incident that happened last night (10/14).

1. Don’t drink and drive. Let’s just say that our neighbor has a little drinking problem. Needles to say, we will not be getting him a nice bottle of wine for the holidays. But maybe a free pass to an AA meeting.
2. Remember to get out of your car before trying to get inside your house. The car does not fit through the door.

You might be thinking WOW! What else did he hit. Well, that is the crazy thing. He managed to pull through two cars that were parked (one was mine) and did not even make a scratch on either.

I am really upset that I was not at home when this happened. Andrea has been keeping me informed on the latest neighborhood drama. The thing you have to remember is that this is the same guy who got a DUI, got put in jail, posted bail, got a cab home, remembered that the cops still had his keys, and broke into his own house at 4am.

Andrea and I live in a nice part of town. We live in a little group of townhouses that are on a golf course. But all of this excitement is definitely better than watching those bad golfers any day. I might post some pictures of the little accident, but maybe not. Lets just say it was not pretty.

West Coast

October 14th, 2005

I am out on the west cost for the next 2 weeks with Derek and Sandra. I am hoping to put some pictures from the shows as well as the traveling around up on the web site. If you live out on the west cost, check out derekwebb.com and come to a show.

another vacation

September 6th, 2005

I feel like I am always telling you about my vacations… but when DW is off the road, I like to go places. So this is my story. Andrea and I went to Colorado for Labor Day weekend. But the night before we left I decided to almost cut my finger off. Ok. I did not want to do it. But this is why I should not play with sharp objects. Let this be a lesson for those of you who may want to buy the chef Tony “miracle blade 3” knife set. Damn those things are sharp!!! Three stitches later, we went to Colorado and had a blast. There are some pictures up on the site now, and I will gladly email anyone a picture of my stitches. Hope you all are good.
